eadline acts US Open Champion Jon Rham, and Rory McIlroy, compete against six other world top ten players in Justin Thomas, Colin Morikawa, Xander Shauffele, Tyrell Hattaon, Scottie Sheffler and Mathew Fitzpatrick.

In the annual curtain raiser to The Open Championship, the Scottish Open has long been supported by players looking to hone their 'links' golfing skills prior to what lies ahead at The Open Championship.

Last years winner Aaon Rai is in the field currently ranked 107 in the world, runner up to Rai, Tommy Fleetwood at 33 in the world also makes an appearance, playing on familiar territory should not be counted out to compete again this year.

Bern Wiesberger the first Austrian winner in 2019 prevailed in a playoff with Frenchman Benjamin Herbert both finishing regulation play on an impressive 22 under, showing that low rounds are possible and potentially required at The Renaissance Club.

Found in the golf-rich East Lothian, The Renaissance Club is the work of world-renowned architect Tom Doak and opened for play in 2008.

Doak and his team were given a pine forest to create a links layout from and cleared huge numbers of trees, whilst leaving some in place to create strategic play and unique visuals for a Scottish course in the same region as Muirfield.

This year marks the 7,293 yard par-71’s third as host, with scoring largely dependent on the wind and weather that Mother Nature dishes up throughout the week.
